Wearing the same dress for 30 days My reflections on the challenge.

The 30 day dress challenge is now over. So how was it to wear the same dress for 30 days you might ask. Did I tire of wearing it, not really. I think it was more of looking for ways to make it look different. One plus was I knew what I was going to wear every day. The dress was really comfortable and that was a must. I loved that it had nice big pockets. Since it was usually cold I always wore pants or leggings underneath. I found that my choice of a sleeveless dress gave it a lot more potential. Sometimes I wore shirts under the dress and sometimes over the dress or a combination of the two. This made getting different looks easier by far. The other asset was accesories, from jewelry to scarves to shawls being added changed the look I was achieving as well. The other thing that made the challenge easy to do was the color. I picked a color I liked and that would go with many of the colors in my wardrobe. I didn't want black but that would have been an option.

Being a wool dress you might wonder how often it had to be washed. My standard way of working with the dress was to take it off and hang it on a hanger and then put it in a place where no other clothes were around it where it had air flow. If I saw a stain I would use water and a cloth to dab on the stain and then let it dry. For stubborn stains I used watered down Dawn detergent and dabbed at the spot and then I washed it in my washing machine on a gentle cycle. I then hung it on a hanger to dry. I only washed the dress twice during the 30 days. It was suggested that you don't use antiperspirant as it can stain the underarms of the fabric. I used Tom's deodorant and that worked well.

After completing the challenge the Wool and company sends you a $3o.oo gift certificate. I haven't decided yet as to whether I will get another dress or another shirt.

Weaving

This set of 4 napkins was woven on a gradient warp on my Baby Wolf loom. Top left was woven with a light weft. Top right was woven with a dark weft. Bottom left was woven with an additional teal color. Bottom right had the addition of purple added. The stripes in the bottom 2 were woven randomly.

I liked working with a gradient and I think I will do more of that in future projects.

Knitting

This is the lace hat for the Shetland Lace tour I am going on in August. The pattern is by Shetland designer Mandy Moore. We are making hats for each week. This one is called Print O' the Wave beanie and was knit in Di Gilpin Lalland in the colorway Crowdie.

I am happy that it fits and looks pretty nice too.
